This Privacy Policy explains how SnapFresh collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the SnapFresh mobile app, the SnapFresh website, and related support pages.
It reflects the current SnapFresh experience, including account sign-in, meal photo analysis, scan history, hydration tracking, nutrition preferences, and related support and account management features.
2. Information We Collect
- Account information such as your email address, name, profile image, sign-in provider, and account identifiers when you create an account or sign in.
- Meal analysis inputs such as photos you capture with the camera or choose from your photo library, optional notes or descriptions you provide, and the resulting detected items, scores, captions, and nutrition estimates generated by the service.
- Profile and goal information such as height, weight, date of birth, gender, calorie goals, macro goals, and related nutrition preference data, if you choose to provide it.
- Hydration and tracking information such as water logs, meal history, favorites, and other entries you create while using the app.
- Device, app, and usage information such as screen views, feature interactions, app settings, language, theme, subscription status indicators, diagnostics, and other technical data used to operate, secure, and improve the service.
- Support communications and account requests you send us, including the email address and message content you use when contacting support or requesting data access or deletion.
3. Permissions and Device Access
- Camera access is requested so you can capture meal photos for analysis.
- Photo library access is requested so you can upload existing food photos for analysis.
- Microphone or speech recognition access may be requested if you use voice input features to describe meals.
- Secure local storage may be used for authentication tokens, app preferences, and related session data needed to keep you signed in and provide app functionality.
- You can control these permissions in your device settings, but certain features will not work properly if access is disabled.
4. How We Use Information
- To create and maintain user accounts and authenticate users securely.
- To process meal photos, notes, and related inputs using automated systems and AI-assisted analysis in order to identify food items and generate estimated nutrition and meal quality insights.
- To store and display scan history, hydration logs, favorites, and personalized goal settings.
- To provide, maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and improve the app, website, and related services.
- To respond to support requests, investigate misuse, enforce our terms, and comply with legal obligations.
- To offer, manage, and support premium or paid features, where available.
5. Service Providers and Infrastructure
SnapFresh uses trusted third-party service providers to operate core parts of the service. For example, Clerk may be used for account authentication, Supabase may be used for application databases and storage, PostHog may be used for product analytics, and AI service providers may be used to process meal images and related inputs in order to return structured food insights and nutrition estimates.
When you submit a meal for analysis, the photo and related input you provide may be transmitted securely to backend systems and service providers involved in generating the analysis result. We require service providers to support our operations only for authorized purposes and subject to appropriate safeguards.
6. Local and Cloud Storage
- Information stored on your device may include app preferences, cached scan history, hydration data, goals, theme, language settings, and certain session-related data.
- Account-linked information stored in cloud systems may include profile data, meal analysis records, hydration records, settings, support records, and operational data needed to provide the service.
- We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
- When you request deletion of your account-linked data, we will delete or de-identify applicable information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or legitimate operational reasons.
7. Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with vendors and service providers that help us operate authentication, hosting, storage, analytics, support, subscriptions, security, and meal analysis features.
We may also disclose information where necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our terms, detect or prevent fraud or abuse, or protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or SnapFresh.
8. Your Choices and Rights
- You can choose not to provide optional profile, goal, hydration, or meal note information.
- You can manage camera, photo library, and microphone permissions through your device settings.
- You can request deletion of your account-linked data by using the process described on the data deletion page or by contacting us directly.
- Deleting the app from your device may remove locally stored app data from that device, but it does not automatically delete account-linked information stored in our cloud systems.
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or portability of your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can contact us to make such a request.
9. Nutrition Information Disclaimer
